Sailing for Alastair began on Loch Long class boats on the river Clyde in Scotland, and he also cruised the west coast there. Next he became a member of the Royal Air Force ocean racing and dinghy racing teams, while stationed in England. His accomplishments on the water are many: He has sailed the Marion/Bermuda race several times and done several Caribbean charters. He was skipper/manager of a 58’S/S Abeking Rusmussen yawl in Maine for several years. He has cruised the East coast as far as Nova Scotia and he has owned several power and sail boats, doing his own maintenance, which includes fitting out a 45’bare fiberglass hull and building several boats (Sailing dinghies, kayaks). Alastair hails from the Massachusetts southern shore
