Marlin grew up on the water in and around the Orange Beach area, where he remembers fishing on his family's custom sportfish. After graduating from the University of South Alabama with a business degree, he knew he wanted to make a career in the marine industry.

Throughout his profession so far, he has been involved with many new builds and refits over the years. He has also been in sales since 2001, where he was the Hatteras demo and delivery captain at the local Hatteras Dealership. In addition, Marlin has had his captain's license for 27 years and has been a professional captain on private boats for 23 years.
