Accommodations

The interior of Nel Mezzo is well appointed and functional with total accommodations for six. The oiled teak interior is offset by lighter panels to create a bright comfortable space, with several opening ports and hatches for ventilation and light.

The forward cabin includes a V-berth double with drawers and lockers underneath as well as cubbies and lockers above. The head is aft to starboard and a large hanging locker is aft to port.

The Head has a Wilcox Crittendon manual toilet, a vanity with a pull-out shower and includes a teak grate that covers the shower sump. There is a Y-valve for overboard discharge or to a holding tank, estimated at 24 gallons.

The main saloon is spacious, with an L-shaped settee to starboard that converts to a double berth, and a straight settee to port that makes a good sea berth with the addition of a lee cloth. There is a fixed centerline dropleaf table and decent storage available in lockers and shelves above and behind the settees. A large overhead hatch and several opening ports provide plenty of light and air.

The galley is immediately aft to port, adjacent to the companionway. There is a single sink, a three-burner LPG stove and oven and a decent-size icebox. The counters feature large fiddles for cooking under way. a dedicated trash bin and outboard storage lockers.

The hanging locker next to the companionway steps is great for wet foulies. The nav station is opposite the galley to starboard and includes a good-size chart table with shelves above and drawers beneath.

Aft of the nav station is a quarter berth with inboard removeable panels for engine access.

From the Original CS36 Brochure

Designed by Raymond Wall (formerly chief sailing yacht designer at Camper and Nicholsons in England), her fine entry makes her extremely close winded while her powerful quarters give her a solid track off the wind. With an almost 42% ballast/weight ratio, she stands up beautifully to heavy weather, yet her double spreader, masthead sail plan moves her easily in light breezes. She's sprightly and maneuverable to every touch of the wheel, yet properly trimmed she'll maintain perfect balance on all points of sail.

To be a world class cruiser means a yacht designed and constructed to world class standards. CS has gained deserved respect among knowledgeable yachtsmen the whole world over for attention to detail and overall quality.
