Description

The Catalina 36 MkII is the most refined version of what may be the most popular boat of her size ever built. With over 2300 hulls built, the Catalina 36 and her variants deliver comfort, value, and solid sailing performance. About Time represents the final iteration of the 36, offering a sought after sugar-scoop transom, updated interior design, and easily managed sailplan.

About Time boasts detailed maintenance records and a history of thoughtful upgrades. A clean, well-maintained interior and exterior reflects prideful ownership, and as her owners prepare to upgrade, she is ready for you right now.

Her private, two-cabin layout is ideal for weekend cruising and longer trips alike, and she is outfitted to be easily sailed with a crew or conveniently short/single-handed. About Time has a refrigerator/freezer, air conditioning, and an electric windlass for comfort and convenience, and her interior layout boats a full thickness teak and holly sole, satin-varnished teak bulkheads and furnishings, and 6' 5" standing headroom in her main salon. A bulkhead mounted saloon table folds up and out of the way, while a smaller starboard side table can be reconfigured as a second settee--a design change so successful, it is still featured on new Catalinas to this day. With her shoal-draft wing keel, she'll get into any harbor and still produce modest performance when sailing to weather.

Features and upgrades include:

  • Bottom blast, new barrier coat and antifouling (2022)
  • Dutchman flaking system with new filament
  • North Sails main (2016)
  • North Sail 135% working jib (2015)
  • Garmin GPSMap 734 at helm (2023)
  • Garmin VHF 215 w/AIS and remote station wired mic (2023)
  • New bimini and dodger with stratoglass panels and connector (2021)
  • New fuel tank (2017)
  • Dual shore power connections (1-bow, 1-stern)
  • And so much more!

About Time will impress you--call to get aboard today!

Patrick Kelly grew up on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio. After taking a local Learn to Sail class as a young teenager, he was hooked and has been on the water ever since. While attending The Ohio State University, he was a member of the sailing team, competing around the midwest. Boating has been a way of life for Patrick; he participates on several racing crews, and holds a USCG Master License. In addition, he is an FAA licensed commercial pilot.

When not racing, Patrick enjoys cruising around the great lakes with his partner Jennifer and their children. He volunteers his spare time to promote junior sailing programs, and enjoys watching his son sail on the Edgewater Yacht Club Junior Race Team.

Not only is Patrick a member of the RCR Team, he is also a customer, having purchased his boat through RCR a few years ago. "The expertise RCR provided when I made my boat purchase was impressive, and I hope to provide the same level of excellence to my customers."
