Description

Riviera’s first-ever express, the 4000 Offshore is a well-built family cruiser with conservative lines (note the absence of an integrated swim platform) and a surprisingly spacious interior. She’s constructed on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide 14'8" beam and shallow keel for directional stability. Below decks, the oak-finished interior provides a sleeping capacity for four people, including a large forward cabin with an island berth. The salon dinette converts to double berth, and the Riviera’s large head compartment includes a separate shower stall. A mirror-backed cocktail cabinet separates the dining area from the forward stateroom. On deck, the cockpit has a double helm seat, a second dinette with a molded-in freezer and sink, and a hydraulic midship hatch for spacious engine room access. Additional features include a half-tower with full controls and electronics, cockpit transom door, aquarium live bait well and a bow pulpit with anchor windlass. Engines are Volvo Penta straight drives, 485 hp each, with 1300 hours which cruise the 4000 Offshore in the mid 20s (with about 30 knots top-end) and an Onan 7.7 kw Generator.

Riviera 4000 Offshore

The Riviera 4000 Offshore Express is a true tournament fisherman or family cruiser with conservative lines and a well-arranged interior. She's constructed on a solid fiberglass hull with a broad beam and a shallow keel aft to improve tracking. A well laid out spacious engine room under the bridge deck accommodates her economical twin Volvo Penta diesels. Her upscale cabin is arranged with a large stateroom forward, a separate stall shower in the head, and an L-shaped settee/dinette that converts into double berth. On the spacious bridge deck, a settee with a dinette table is opposite the double-wide helm seat, and the uncluttered cockpit makes an excellent fishing platform for the true angler. "Compromise” has been lightly used and makes a great sport fishing boat or cruiser. She is seriously for sale and turn-key ready to go.

Capt. Gary Spivack grew up on the south shore of Long Island racing one-design sailboats and cruising the Long Island-New England area. During college, Gary raced Star boats on the Great South Bay. In 1975, Gary went to work for the local Bertram dealer, managing brokerage and selling Bertram yachts. Over the years, Gary has been involved in delivering boats up and down the East Coast and Gulf of Mexico while pursuing a career as a management consultant. For 30 years, he and his wife and daughter enjoyed cruising and racing sailboats on the Chesapeake Bay from Annapolis to Norfolk. In 2003, Gary got his 100-ton master’s license; he worked as an assistance tow captain for TowBoatUS and operated a tour boat on the Potomac River near Washington DC. Gary also restored his Bertram 20 Bahia Mar and operates his Bertram 38 for charter. After leaving his career as a management consultant, he has returned to yacht brokerage, as an associate with Fillingham Yacht Sales.
