Description

This project is the result of the synergetic work between modern design and hydrodynamic research and simulations with data analysis entrusted to a pool of professionals. In few words: a hull with sleek and elusive lines, to always guarantee the best seakeeping, safe and powerful.

COMFORT AND PERFORMANCE

The deck plan is practical and functional and the hull lines of IY 12.98 have the correct balance between comfort and performance, borrowing the fluid-dynamics concepts of the multi-winning IY 9.98 and 11.98 Fuoriserie for the distribution of volumes, while maintaining the characteristics of the interiors in absolute cruising style. The angles at the stern and bow are more evident than the other models of the shipyard. The smaller wetted surface is an all-round benefit of performance in light wind conditions. The shape of the hull favors a variable waterline length: with little wind, it dynamically stretches with increasing speed and the heel. The aspects related to comfort in navigation are very accurate, to mitigate pitching.

EXTERIOR

The deck plan includes a teak deck and a layout optimized for cruising. So that navigation is easy and comfortable for a family or a smaller crew, without compromising on speed or feeling at the helm.

INTERIOR

In the interior of the IY 12.98 the leitmotif is ecology, nature, respect for the environment: wicker, cotton and linen fibers interpreted with technological and innovative solutions to create an elegant environment, without weighing down the boat. As in the whole Italia Yachts range, the solutions respond to ergonomic studies to always guarantee excellent habitability and comfort above standards.

Before that, Erik was a successful Store Manager with West Marine, winning many top accolades, including multiple District Store of the Year awards. Erik was born in New York, where he learned to sail at a young age on the Hudson River. In the mid-1990s, his family moved to Annapolis, where his fondness for the Chesapeake grew by being involved in sailboat racing, fishing, and other water-related activities.

To further his career as a yacht broker, Erik attended continuing education training and was granted certification as a Certified Professional Yacht Broker in 2017. His drive to ensure his client's needs are met is paramount. Erik believes his job is never done with any client and that the personal assistance he provides clients, some years after they make their purchase, sets him apart from other brokers in the industry.

He has a wide breadth of yacht sales experience, from blue water yachts to center console fishing boats, picnic boats, sport fishers, racing sailboats, trawlers, and motor yachts.

When Erik is not showing boats, you can find him on the Bay on his Regulator center console or involved in the sailboat races out of Annapolis and around the East Coast. During the winter, Erik relocates to South Florida to be closer to his clients, participating in the annual "snowbird" ritual.
