Description

Moonglow has had many improvements including Awlgripping of the hull and decks, system updates, including new diesel engine, and standing rigging. She has enjoyed excellent ownership and is very well equipped. Moonglow comes highly recommended. She's neat and clean, a very special boat.

Overview

Accommodations

Sleeps 6. Forward cabin with generous V-berth with insert that makes into double berth. Access to chain locker. Storage above and outboard of each berth. Aft of each berth is a bureau with shelf and drawers below. Two opening ports and an overhead hatch provide ample light andventilation. 


Next aft is an enclosed head to port with toilet, sink, hand-held shower, and pressure hot/cold water. A large hanging locker is opposite to starboard. Access doors to the head open forward and aft to create a full width shower - dressing area. 


The main cabin is next aft and has settees, port and starboard, which slide out to create full sized berths. Above and outboard of the starboard settee are beautifully crafted lockers and book shelves. Above and outboard of the port settee is a pilot berth. A solid mahogany drop leaf table folds onto the port bulkhead. A Cole solid fuel (wood/charcoal/coal) burning stove (chimney new 1998) is mounted to the starboard bulkhead. 


Next aft to port is the galley, featuring a gimballed three-burner stove with oven, sink, and large ice box. Opposite to port is a sit-down navigation station. A wet locker is to starboard of the companionway steps. 


The cabin sole is varnished teak and holly. Cabin ceilings are of white ash. The headliner is constructed of tongue and groove planking. Each of the ten opening ports is fitted with a screen. The interior is striking in that it conveys the feeling of being in a wooden vessel.

Galley

3-burner CNG stove with oven and two CNG tanks, custom stove cover, hot and cold running water. Salt water hand pump. Engine driven hot water.



Electrical

12V system- two 6V house batteries in series, 12V starting battery, selector switch. Inverter at nav table with two 110V outlets. Speakers for a sound system installed in the main salon ,but the sound system was never installed. New anchor windlass 2021.



Electronics & Navigation

.New VHF, Datamarine Corinthian speed/log and depth sounder, Garmin radar and chart plotter on swing-out display. Raytheon tiller autopilot, new compass.

Sails & Rigging

.High performance laminated cruising sails from Thurton Quantum Sails (2010). Maintained and repaired every year by the sailmaker and still in very good condition. Fully battened main and 120% genoa. Shaeffer roller furling rebuilt 2021. Standing rigging replaced in 2021. Barlow self-tailing sheet winches, Harken self-tailing halyard winches on mast. Main sheet and traveler in cockpit.

 

Mechanical

Yanmar 3GM Diesel (1997) Wilcox-Crittenden marine toilet, with holding tank and Y-valve for overboard discharge, electric bilge pump, manual pump for bilge and shower sump, unrestricted access to engine, transmission, stuffing box, seacocks, filters, etc. Racor fuel filter/water separator, new engine mounts 2022.

 

Hull & Deck

Awlgrip hull and deck paint with tan non-skid on deck. Campbell 3-blade sailor prop. Custom swim ladder with teak treads. New teak anchor platform with 35lb CQR plow anchor with electric windlass and all-chain rode. Salt water washdown pump. Recent Sunbrella canvas, heavy cable lifelines and gates, custom teak cockpit grate, enormous cockpit lockers port and starboard.
