ACCOMMODATION AIR CONDITIONING AND VENTILATION MAIN CHILLER UNIT

  • A main chiller unit, serving the fan coils and the air treatment units is installed. 
  • The chiller unit provides cold water in summer and heated water in winter, working in reverse-cycle.
  • The total installed chilled water cooling capacity defines so as to meet design conditions.
  • The chilled water unit consists of modular elements including:

  • Each modular element is fully independent, so that one system can run while the other is being serviced/repaired.

AIR HANDLING UNITS
  • An appropriate number of units for the primary treatment of the external fresh air is installed onboard; and equipped with filter, heat exchanger and fan.
ENGINE ROOM AND TECHNICAL SPACES VENTILATION SYSTEM ENGINE ROOM FANS
  • One axial flow fan is installed for air intake on starboard side and portside, working as exhaust fan at low yacht speeds and as intake fan at high yacht speeds.
  • The fans are controlled by an inverter, with adjustable speed. A local control panel is provided in the engine room. 
  • Fans status can be checked on the monitoring system located in wheelhouse.
ENGINE ROOM FIRE DAMPERS
  • Two fire dampers are fitted to close the engine room ventilation trunks

SIDE PROPULSION - BOW THRUSTER TUNNEL
  • A GRP tunnel is connected to the hull by an adequate number of GRP layers.
BOW THRUSTER
  • An electrical bow thruster (CMC BTM60EA) is installed with an electrical motor having 45 kW input nominal power supplied by generators.
  • Voltage is 400 Vac, 3 phases, 50Hz, duty cycle S6-40%.
  • Prior to operating bow thruster, the manual parallel connection of generators has to be actuated on main switchboard.
  • The propeller thrust is 720 kgf. 
  • As option grids on bow thruster tunnel are provided with a thrust reduction of about 30%.
  • Control joysticks are installed on wheelhouse console and on flybridge.


BILGE AND FIRE SYSTEMS

FIRE PUMP

  • Electric self priming pump is installed in the engine room for sea water fire extinguishing system. The pump is connected with the motor pump.
BILGE PUMPS
  • Electric self priming pump is installed in the engine room for main bilge system. The pump is connected with the motor pump.
  • Dedicated electric pump is installed for the garage bilge system.
MOTOR PUMP
  • Motor pump is installed for bilge and fire systems.
BILGE AND FIRE PIPING
  • Each watertight compartment has a separate bilge suction, with electric valve, connected through a bilge manifold to the electric pump.
  • Bilge lines are in stainless steel AISI 316 on suction side and in CuNi 90-10 on delivery side.
  • Vacuum and pressure gauge sets are arranged in a support as close as possible to the main bilge pump, fire pump and motor pump.
  • The garage is protected by a water jet nozzles’ system connected to the fire main by a manually operated valve.
  • Fire hydrant valves, with fire hoses and nozzles, are fitted in the following positions: 2 on main deck & 1 on flybridge.
  • The hawse pipes are  connected to the fire manifold for sea water chain washing.
  • Fire lines are in CuNi 90-10 of the press fitting type.
ENGINE ROOM FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM
  • A FM 200 fixed fire extinguishing system is installed for engine room, with adequate nozzles and a release handle fitted on the emergency control panel situated near the access to the engine room/garage area.
FUEL OIL SYSTEM / FUEL OIL TRANSFER PUMP
  • The transfer system allows to transfer fuel oil from each tank to each other, by means of 1 electric transfer pump and 1 manual pump.
  • Electric pump controls on the main electrical panel and in wheelhouse on the monitoring panel.
SANITARY EQUIPMENT / SANITARY SYSTEM
  • Collecting tanks with their own transfer pump where necessary are installed in the lower deck for the greywater coming from various users (sinks, showers, bath tubes, fan coils drain). 
  • A direct discharge into structural sewage/greywater tank is provided
  • Ceramic floor mounted WCs are installed for crew and guest areas with incorporated pumps to transfer black waters to sewage tank.
SEWAGE/GREYWATER PUMP
  • A structural GRP sewage/greywater tank is fitted in the hull bottom as per capacity plan.
  • 2 electric sewage/greywater pump, one spare to the other, provide for overboard discharge, when allowed by international convention.  In case of failure of one pump, the other one can be used in emergency to discharge the tank, after having suitably operated section valves.
SMELL SYSTEM
  • An ozone system is installed to eliminate bad smell from black/greywater tank air vent.
SANITARY PIPING
  • Piping is made in high density PVC outside the engine room and in stainless steel inside the engine room.
  • The sewage/greywater tank can also be discharged ashore via an international flange deck connection.
FRESH WATER SYSTEM / FRESH WATER PUMPS
  • 2 electrical pumps are  installed.
HOT WATER PUMPS
  • 2 hot water circulating pumps, one in service and one in standby, keeps constant temperature in hot water ring lines.
WATER HEATERS
  • 2 x Electric hot water stainless steel heaters with total capacity of 200 litres (53usg). Resistance 3+3 kW for each heater.
FRESH WATER STERILISER, FILTERS
  • An active carbon filter is installed between fresh water pumps and the users.
MINI POOL
  • 1 mini pool with a teak cover is installed on the bow living area as per General Arrangement. 
FRESH WATER PIPING
  • 1 GRP structural fresh water tank is fitted in the hull bottom according to capacity plan. A deck connection to shore waterline is provided, in order to feed the system directly from the marina via an overpressure control valve or to fill, by gravity, the fresh water tank.
  • Cold and hot water lines are installed to feed the various users.
  • Hot water is distributed onboard via a ring. Hot water pipes are insulated.
  • The watermaker production is delivered directly into the tank. Hand held shower with hot and cold water is provided for the beach area.
  • The following wash down connections, integrated into the fresh water system, is provided: 1 on main deck aft, 1 on mooring forward area, 1 on flybridge & 1 in garage.
  • Water supply is provided to the wheelhouse window wipers. 
  • Piping in engine room is in press fitting AISI 316L stainless steel, outside engine room is in multilayer.


HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS

HYDRAULIC POWER UNIT

  • 1 e/hydraulic power pack is fitted in aft technical space to operate the gangway, the stern bathing platform door, the starboard fiberglass garage door, and the launching system for tender and pwc. Manual operation in case of emergency is possible.
  • The garage and stern doors can be locked using stainless steel pins. Microswitches allow monitoring of doors status (open/closed).
STEERING SYSTEM
  • The steering system consists of the following components: 1 electrical actuator in the wheelhouse, 1 electrical actuator in the external console, placed on flybridge, 1 hydraulic power pack (fitted in the aft technical room on portside), with two 400V electric pumps and one oil tank
  • A hydraulic actuator with steering wheel provides in the aft technical room, for emergency manoeuvring.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS PIPING
  • Carbon steel pipes are used for high pressure hydraulic systems. Flexible pipes are used for connections.
SEA WATER COOLING EQUIPMENT / PUMPS
  • Main engines and generators have their own driven sea water pump.
  • 2 sea water pumps, one spare to the other, is installed for air conditioning chiller unit.
SEA WATER PIPING
  • 2 main sea chests, connected by manifold, are installed in engine room for the following equipments: main engines, generators, fire pump, watermaker, air conditioning system, optional equipment.
  • 1 separate sea chest is installed for the motor pump. Sea water piping is in CuNi 90-10.
GAS EXHAUST SYSTEMS / MAIN ENGINES EXHAUSTS
  • Gas exhaust duct of each main engine lead underwater and to by-pass discharges at low RPMs.
  • Stainless steel flexible bellows are installed on the engines, in way of turbochargers exhausts. Silicone double bellows provide on the connections to the hull side.
  • The main exhaust is located below the water line, the by-pass exhaust is located above the water line.
  • Ducts are in stainless steel AISI 304 for the dry part, in AISI 316L stainless steel for the wet part.
  • The system is designed to guarantee a back-pressure level compliant with engine Manufacturer’s requirements.
GENERATORS EXHAUSTS
  • Each diesel generator exhaust system have a GRP muffler and a GRP gas/water separator.
  • Exhaust piping in rubber.
  • Exhaust gas from separator can be discharged through an outlet located above the waterline and the sea cooling water through an outlet below the waterline.


NAUTICAL AND DECK EQUIPMENT

WINDLASSES

  • Two electric windlasses of the vertical type are installed. 
  • The windlasses are placed at the bow of the Yacht, on a recessed stainless steel plate of the main deck floor, under an appropriate cover and locally controlled.
  • Electric power is 400 Vac, 3 phases, 50Hz, 4 kW.
CAPSTANS
  • Two electric foot-operated vertical capstans are fitted on aft deck. The capstans are raised from deck level on a dedicated manoeuvring area each side and locally controlled.
  • Electric power is 400 Vac, 3 phases, 50Hz, 3kW.
MOORING BOLLARDS
  • The following polished AISI 316L stainless steel bollards, sized according to Azimut standard, are installed: 2 on the aft main deck, 4 on the forward main deck.
ROLLER FAIRLEADS
  • The following polished AISI 316L stainless roller fairleads, sized according to Azimut standard, are installed: 4 on the forward main deck, 2 on the aft main deck.
ANCHORS
  • The Yacht is equipped with nr. 
  • 2 galvanised steel VHHP (very high holding power) anchors of 120 kg each, according to rules.
  • The anchoring equipment specified is intended for temporary mooring of a Yacht within or near a harbour, or in a sheltered area.
  • The equipment is therefore not designed to hold the Yacht off fully exposed coasts in rough weather or to stop the Yacht which is moving or drifting.
  • In such conditions the loads on the anchoring equipment increase to such a degree that its components may be damaged or lost owing to the high energy forces generated.
  • The anchoring equipment specified in this document is deemed suitable to hold the Yacht in good holding ground where the conditions are such as to avoid dragging of the anchor. 
  • It is assumed that under normal circumstances the Yacht will use one anchor only.
RUDDERS
  • Two spade rudders ( 0,6 sqm) are provided, made of AISI 316L, sized to ensure good evolution capabilities at low speed .
  • Rudder stocks are made in Marinox 17, sized according to Classification Society requirements.
  • A rudder skeg is provided above the blade with a minimum clearance.
  • Rudder tubes of suitable diameter are fixed by bolts to the hull bottom with flange recessed in a dedicated housing and counter flange.
  • Rudder bushes in naval brass material are provided for the rudder stocks.


WINDOWS, DOORS AND HATCHES

WINDOWS

  • Size and positions of the windows are shown on the General Arrangement.
  • The glass sizing is according to Classification Society requirements.
  • No window can be opened.
  • All windows are bonded to the FRP frame of the hull and superstructure.
  • Each glass provides with a black band around its contour in order to prevent the UV degradation of the bonding.
  • Windows colour are Grey Europe: wheelhouse front are clear. As LY3 option, wheelhouse side windows with clear finishing are provided.
WINDOW WIPERS
  • Electric window wipers are fitted for front wheelhouse windows. Freshwater jet-spray for each wiper are fitted.
WATERTIGHT DOORS
  • Hinged watertight manually operated doors are provided for the engine room and the garage.  
WEATHERTIGHT SIDE DOORS
  • Four doors are installed on the main deck superstructure as follows:
  • At portside for side access to the engine room/garage area, & to the galley
  • At starboard side for side access to the main foyer.
  • At portside of the upper-main deck for side access to the wheelhouse.
  • All doors are manually operated.
EXTERNAL AFT SLIDING DOOR
  • One sliding door with stainless steel AISI 316L frame and tempered glass is installed in way of the aft main deck saloon access. The glass colour is Grey Europe. The door is manually operated
  • The door is weathertight according to the Classification Society requirements and may be secured in open position.
EXTERNAL HATCHES
  • One sliding hatch with stainless steel AISI 316L frame and tempered glass is provided on flybridge to wheelhouse access. The glass colour is Grey Europe. The hatch is manually operated and is weathertight according to the Classification Society requirements and may be secured in open position.
  • Watertight hatches for access to forward locker, chain locker, and escapes according to regulations are provided.
INTERNAL HATCHES
  • Hatches are used as secondary escape from compartments. They are fitted at deck and at bulwark according to regulations and they are watertight or weathertight according to the position.
HULL DOORS
  • The stern door is hydraulically operated and, in open position, creates a bathing platform. Two folding cleats are provided on the edge of the door for tender and pwc mooring.
  • The starboard garage door is hydraulically operated for launching tender and pwc.
STAIRS, LADDERS, GANGWAYS, TECHNICAL FLOORS
INTERNAL STAIRS
  • Internal stairs in the guest areas have a structure properly covered as per Interiors Book. The stairs leading to the crew area and engine room/garage area have a GRP structure and are properly covered as per Interiors Book.
  • Aluminium alloy ladders are provided for access to chain locker and forward locker and for escape in engine room.
  • Rope ladders are provided for escape in accommodation, where necessary.
GANGWAY
  • A telescopic retractable stern gangway is provided. It is hydraulically operated and connected to the power pack unit, used also for other equipments.
  • The gangway is in polished stailess steel frame and teak grating.
  • Removable handrails are provided at both sides and made in polished stainless steel.
  • The control panel is located on the handrail near the gangway.
  • 1 radio-operated remote control system for extension and retraction of the gangway from the quay is supplied.
SWIMMING LADDER
  • 1 manual swimming ladder in AISI 316 stainless steel, with teak steps, is provided on side of the bathing platform.
ENGINE ROOM AND TECHNICAL AREAS FLOORING
  • Aluminium knocked plate floor is installed in engine room and technical areas. This is of the lean-on type. 
  • Neoprene gaskets are mounted between the plating and the supporting angle bars.

  • Handling systems for tender and PWC are installed. The systems include electro-hydraulic winch and stainless steel sleigh with rollers.

CREW INTERIOR LININGS AND FURNITURE
  • Hull sides, superstructure sides and bulkheads are lined with GRP or glued marine plywood panels, stiffened where required and with removable sections where necessary to access technical equipment or accessories (valves, electrical junction boxes etc.).
  • The Crew Quarters (Corridor and Cabins) are lined in laminated material. All the Crew Quarters furniture are in laminated material and/or lacquered wood.
  • Crew Bathrooms, Crew Mess and Laundry are lined in laminated material/lacquered wood.
  • Ceilings are in lacquered wood panels RAL 9010, matt finishing. Built-in furniture is made according to the General Arrangement.
  • Air conditioning grills flush with the furniture and removable for service.
CREW INTERIORS HARDWARE
  • The following hardware is provided for Crew Areas, as per Azimut standard selection: furniture knobs, door handles, door stoppers.
  • Polished stainless steel pipe handrail are fitted on Crew staircases. Crew Area doors are equipped with twist lock from outside and twist lock from inside.

GUEST INTERIORS LINING
  • Hull sides, superstructure sides and bulkheads are lined with glued marine plywood panels, stiffened where required and with removable sections to access the technical equipment or accessories (valves, electrical junction boxes etc).
  • Wall linings are finished with fabric, leather, veneer or lacquered wood and according to the Interiors Style. Woods, fabrics and veneers are chosen from the Azimut selection.
  • Ceilings are made of marine plywood panels fitted with an easily removable system. The ceiling panels are lined with fabric, leather or lacquer according to the Interiors Style. 
  • Built-in furniture (cupboards, drawers, consoles, night tables, wash basin units, A/C units, desks, etc.) are made according to the Interiors Style.
  • Furniture is made of wood (timber or veneered marine plywood). Built-in furniture is made according to the General Arrangement and built by skilled cabinet makers. Furniture is made using a combination of solid wood and veneered plywood. 
  • Interior stairways are covered and finished in accordance with the Interiors Style.
  • Stairs are squeak-free and provided with wooden or metallic handrails.
  • Around portholes and windows curtain boxes are fitted, made of lacquered or leather, as per Interiors Style.

Northrop & Johnson Yacht Broker Alex Rogers boasts an impressive history in the yachting industry, with over a decade of experience as a yacht captain and 25 years as a successful broker. Alex began his maritime career in 1977 as a private yacht captain, then transitioned to a corporate captain at Hatteras of Lauderdale in 1987. After heading back to land in 1990, Alex turned a new corner to discover the other side of the business- brokerage. He began as a sales executive with Hatteras of Lauderdale and moved to Harbor Yacht Sales in 1998. He became the President and Owner of Port Everglades Yacht Sales, and in 2002 joined Westport Yachts, where he has moved up the ranks boasting an impressive record of over 100 Westport sales and an enviable sales record of other superyachts globally. Alex specializes in new construction and also liaises crew placement for preferred clients. 

Alex showcases the skills of a successful broker, offering the knowledge, support and personal approach required to garner and nurture long-term relationships with his clients. Alex’s passion for finding the “right” yacht for his clients can be seen throughout every step of the process. Alex’s range of expertise covers not only motor yachts but also sportfishers.
