Description

The traditional beauty of the Shelter Island Runabout belies her incredible performance capabilities.

Shelter Island Runabouts are built to your order. Twin outboard engine packages are available ranging from 300 to 450 HP per engine. The moderate V-hull is designed with 15 degree deadrise at the transom and a narrow 10 foot beam to provide a smooth, comfortable ride at all speeds. Combine this with noise abatement and vibration reduction systems and we have composed the perfect harmony between handsome styling, speed and comfort.

The deck is designed with flexibility and safety in mind. An appropriately sized side deck is provided to walk forward without sacrificing valuable interior cabin or cockpit space. The cockpit and deck incorporate safe hand holds for adverse conditions. The forepeak contains the anchor with rode and provides additional storage for fenders and docklines. An optional anchor roller with windlass is available as is a stainless bow rail.

The cockpit is arranged for each individual's custom layouts. Wrap around seating, folding captain chairs or center facing benches in the pilothouse are just some of the options. The helm area provides safety from the elements behind a windshield and canvas navy top. For more adverse climates the Runabout is also offered as a hardtop with opening windows and two overhead hatches. To starboard is a Stidd Admiral Series helm chair, steering station with engine instrumentation and ample space for navigational equipment. On the port side there's an additional Stidd chair for a passenger plus a dash storage compartment. There is ample storage under the cockpit sole.

The interior bulkheads are white and are trimmed in native cherry joiner work with flush paneled doors. Interior varnish is done in a traditional rubbed effect finish or it can be ordered with a bright gloss finish. Ample storage is provided in assorted lockers for clothing, food and dinnerware. Five inch thick cushions provide comfort for sitting or sleeping while four opening ports and overhead opening hatch allow natural lighting and abundant ventilation.
