2001 55 Hatteras Convertible “Dirt Life”. In 1999 Hatteras took a major departure from their long-standing tradition of building sportfish convertibles. The Hatteras 55 Convertible was reborn with a restyled superstructure/flybridge and revised hull bottom with desirable prop pockets. The innovation of incorporating prop pockets into the hull bottom opened up various shallow water ports that were not previously accessible. Boasting one of the largest cockpits in her class, the 55 was designed with the sportfish enthusiast in mind having all amenities to catch the elusive blue marlin. “Dirt Life” features a 3 stateroom 2 head layout with optional 60/40 bunk configuration forward ideal for offshore fishing. Over the recent years “Dirt Life” has had many upgrades to include GARMIN suite of electronics, Pentair swimming pool pump to power transom tuna tubes, watermaker, and Eskimo ice chipper.
