Description

This 2-owner 1994 362 was used very lightly as a weekend day sailor by both owners in retirement. One or two people can enjoy the feather-light touch needed to sail this boat on all wind angles, moving easily in light 5 knot winds on up. Few other boats allow the helmsman to (so often) release the wheel and let the balanced sail plan maintain course with light corrections periodically. It was built with options supporting racing sail control but only raced 5-10 times in social regattas. The oiled teak interior is gorgeous, looking like new to this day. Never touching salt water environs has kept the wiring/plumbing/exterior in excellent condition, parked in a Lake Erie slip from May-October.
Features:
Hall spars with rigid vang (line to cockpit), optional mainsail T-track on mast, two jiffy reefing lines led to cockpit clutches (6) along with two halyards, topping lift, centerboard control. Standing rigging shows no aging (fresh water only).
Line control adjustable genoa sheet cars on inboard tracks. Outboard sheet tracks on top of teak rail.
Eight winches mounted: 4 on cockpit coaming, 3 on coachroof under dodger, 1 on mast (5 self-tailing).
Like new Doyle main (2015) w/ 2 full battens on riding cars and 3 partial battens (sailed 10 days/year for 4 hours). Like new Doyle premium Dacron 125% roller furling Genoa (2019). Spare 100% jib.
Two lightly used symmetric spinnakers (3/4 oz and 1.5 oz) w/ Forespar pole, snatch blocks, sheets.
All canvas (Dodger, Bimini, Connector, sail cover) w/ semirigid polycarbonate glass & goretex thread new in 2015, shows only minor age.
4’5” lead keel extends to 7’2” with centerboard down.
Yanmar 34hp runs grand, never had issue. Engine has 800-1000 hours based on average diesel add of 22 gal/yr. 2-blade auto-pitch maxProp. Very little age or corrosion on systems.
Teak cockpit table with foldout teak wings.
Bruce spade anchor (10kg) w/ chain/rope rode manageable w/o windlass. Spare Danforth anchor.
Oiled all-teak interior is like new. Newer Bluetooth stereo, VHF, and tv/DVD at nav station. Speakers hidden in louvered cabinet and in cockpit cuddy openings.
Talalay latex quilt-top 7” thick V-berth mattress added 2016, w/ Froli spring system under mattress.
Upgraded batteries in 2021 to two 6-volt group 31 golf cart batteries in series (240 amp-hours). Smart 3 stage 20-amp charger.
Cabin heater driven by diesel engine with fan/heat exchanger located under bottom companionway step. Five mounted 12v fans through cabin. LED and fluorescent cabin lighting.
3” thick insulated ice-box with added acrylic shelf above ice, no compressor ever installed.
Raytheon Radar works, rarely used (1995), screen mounted on binnacle.
Hull waxed yearly with Collinite. Annual VC17 bottom paint. Covered in winter (cover needs replacing).
Head w/ Raritan PH II toilet and separate shower room. ~30 gallon holding tank.
Newer house water pump w/ dual poly water tanks ~75 gallons capacity.
Original ’94 KvH instrumentation does speed & depth well, wind speed frozen at masthead. Owner used iPad for chart plotter. New owner can upgrade to new instruments as price reflects. Navco autopilot (1995) works well.
