Description
From the Listing Broker:
I've had extensive experience working with the Catalina C-250 model, and it continues to impress. The rigging is lightweight, and the mast is easily raised with either one skilled rigger or two individuals. This particular C-250 is equipped with a trailer in excellent condition. The cockpit offers comfort, featuring a straightforward layout with two self-tailing winches and halyard brakes. Steering is facilitated by a shiny 24” wheel, providing an excellent sense of navigation. The Mercury 9.9 engine is conveniently positioned on the port side of the stern for easy access and manipulation.
Numerous articles and reviews highlight the spacious and well-designed interior of the Catalina C-250. It boasts two sleeping areas—one in the bow and one in the stern—a full-size head with a manual toilet and sink, a galley on the starboard side, and a removable dining table accommodating four people.
Ideal for experienced sailors seeking an affordable, enjoyable daysailer or beginners aiming for an easy-to-learn and maintain vessel, the Catalina C-250 is situated at Ray Hubbard Lake in Rockwall, Texas (Dallas Area). Virtual and in-person showings are available by appointment, with short notice welcomed!
From Catalina Yachts Factory Sales Brochure:
First introduced in 1994, the Catalina 250 has already become what many consider a modern classic. This proper, safe and affordable pocket cruiser. was designed for the growing sailing family. A cockpit big enough for the whole crew, with comfortable seating and deep coamings, so you can sail, dine and move about in a safe, secure environment. Wide, uncluttered coamings are highlighted with two observation seats.
The cockpit is made even more functional with two storage lockers and separate fuel storage locker. Getting on and off the boat is that much easier with the open transom and standard stainless swim ladder. Below you ll find not only an enclosed head, with sink and vanity, but double berths fore and aft. The 250 galley has sink, stove, fresh water system, and a removable ice chest, standard. Normally only found on larger boats, is the convenience of a standard 12 volt electrical system with control panel. The long list of a standard equipment even includes a standard pop-top enclosure with windows to increase the already ample headroom.
Sailing enjoyment is further enhanced by the standard roller furling headsail, and fully battened main, with Jiffy reefing. You have your choice of water ballast centerboard model, or wing keel, lead ballast model. Both are trailerable, and come with outboard mounting bracket.
