Description

"The 41 is a big, beamy, muscular vessel that was my first impression upon getting close to her. Her faux-carvel-planked bow seemed enormous and lofty, mostly due to a one-piece deck molding that adds to both gunwale height and stem-to-stern stature. Wide chine flats swept back from a straight, slightly raked stem, promising the sort of transverse stability that typifies the coastal-cruising hulls of Lynn Senour." ~ Power and Motoryacht Review of the American Tug 41

This Great Lakes gem, Antares Star, is currently on her returning leg of the Great Loop and ready for her next adventure. Well maintained, super clean and cruise ready...she won't be available for very long. Sellers acquired vessel out of Racine, WI in 2013 when she had only 1,460 hours. Over the next 11 years she was actively cruised throughout the Great Lakes Region and Great Loop. Vessel originally ordered and spec’d for East Coast dealer to show off at boat shows.

If the Great Loop, cruising the ICW, Great Lakes, or the Bahamas are in your future boating plans, this is the vessel for you!

Showings available by appointment to vetted buyers.

Salon / Galley

The first impression of Antares Star is the quality of the interior. As you step into the salon from the aft cockpit, you are immediately impressed by the textures of new carpet, soft Ultra Leather and beautiful woodwork.

The salon features large windows which flood the interior with light. You can see forward past the galley to the raised pilothouse, it is this open feel that makes the interior great for entertaining. An L-shape settee is to starboard, which easily converts to a large double berth. On the port side aft is a chair that is perfect for reading.

On the port side forward of chair is a U-shaped galley with a sizeable island ideal for preparing family meals or entertaining. The moulded Granicote counter has a deep double sink, moulded backsplash and fiddles for easy maintenance.  A three burner Force Ten stainless LPG stove and oven are mounted on the forward counter, complemented by a Sharp microwave oven. The pilothouse is large, open and provides full 360-degree sightlines.The port side of the pilothouse has additional seating for 3. On starboard is an additional seat with dedicated storage. The helm chair is on centerline.   The helm is well designed with full engine controls, gauges, electronics displays and a large wheel. Heavy duty doors to port and starboard open fully to provide amazing visibility and a fresh breeze on a nice day as well as provide access to side and foredecks and large mid cleat when docking.

Forward is the guest stateroom with a queen Pullman berth. The guest stateroom has a

private head with full shower. Ample storage and good ventilation are provided. A full size washer and dryer are located in a locker to support extended cruising.

Hull / Decks

On the foredeck there is an oversized 66lb Bruce anchor w/ 250 ft all-chain rode. Powerful Loufrans windlass system. Seawater washdown adjacent windlass. She has a nice plumb bow with a long waterline that allows for greater speed than other tugs/trawlers of her size. The Kadey-Krogen Group Expands Sales of Krogen and Summit Motoryachts

The Kadey-Krogen Group adds Chicago-based Schwartz & Co. Yacht Sales

to sales network, expanding presence in Great Lakes region.

October, 2023, Stuart, Florida — Schwartz & Co. Yacht Sales of Chicago, with expertise in trawlers, luxury motor yachts, and sailboats in the Great Lakes region, joins The Kadey-Krogen Group, builder of world-class Krogen, Summit, and American Tug brands. Schwartz will now act as a dealer for new and used models of Krogen and Summit yachts, and will continue to represent American Tug, the LaConner, Washington, based cruising trawler builder acquired by The Kadey-Krogen Group in May 2023.

The addition of Schwartz to this dimension of the consolidated trawler construction market also extends a far-reaching coastal distribution network into the Midwest U.S. and across the Great Lakes region. Along with Schwartz, Krogen’s sales offices now include Portsmouth, R.I.; Annapolis, Md.; Seattle, Wash.; and Stuart, Fla.

“This fits in perfectly with who we are and who we serve,” says Michael Schwartz, managing director of Schwartz & Co. Yacht Sales. “We are highly sought-after from buyers as advisors in the acquisition of unique cruising and sailing vessels capable of reaching picturesque anchorages on distant shores of the Great Lakes region. We work closely with boaters seeking suitable vessels for America’s Great Loop cruising grounds, and we also represent manufacturers whose vessels are uniquely suited for the Great Loop.”

Joining The Kadey-Krogen Group as a dealer is an optimal arrangement, Schwartz adds. “We have worked extensively creating community in the Great Lakes region for American Tug owners and have substantially expanded the Great Lakes fleet,” Schwartz continues. “We see Krogen and Summit as a similar mutually beneficial relationship for us to help grow sales and community in a region. We are incredibly excited to work with Kadey-Krogen Group President Tucker West and the entire Kadey-Krogen team. Krogen and Summit will make American Tug better, American Tug will make Kadey and Summit better, and the involvement of Schwartz & Co. Yacht Sales will take the entire relationship to a new, exciting level.”

The strength of the ongoing relationship between Schwartz and American Tug, notably Schwartz’s ability to sell boats, maintain high yacht resale values, and create community for owners and buyers, fit perfectly with The Kadey-Krogen Group’s company mission, says Kadey-Krogen Group President Tucker West.

“We immediately identified how our companies will complement each other and, most importantly, how the customers will benefit,” West says. “Schwartz is the logical addition to our extensive network of buyers, owners, and partner stakeholders.” Schwartz & Co. Yacht Sales, with offices in Chicago, Illinois, as well as Michigan offices in Saint Joseph, Holland, and Charlevoix, opened in January of 2020. It has been an American Tug dealer since 2021.

I love boats. I love talking about boats. I love being on boats. I even love working on boats (my own). From tow boats to tug boats, boating is in the blood. I grew up listening to my Grandfather tell stories about when he was a PT Boater in the Navy during WWII aboard "Kamikaze Val", PT 300 of MTB Squadron 16, which was a 78' Higgins powered with triple Packards. While armed to the teeth, its speed generated the fondest of memories for my Grandfather. As a child I spent my summers behind ski boats. In high school and college I worked at a Christian summer camp in Northern Michigan driving Ski Nautiques instructing waterskiiing and wakeboarding. It is odd to anyone who knows me that not until my late 30's did I pursue a career in maritime.

I approach this business from two distinct perspectives: 1) I am a boater and love boats of all types and sizes. I love talking about boats and can spend hours doing so with other like-minded enthusiasts. No boat is a bad boat...some are just kept better than others. 2) I have a professional background in banking. I am a ferocious advocate for my clients and protect their interests with a fiduciary mindset. Contracts and the language within them matter.

My work is proactive and strategic. When you are hiring a broker you are hiring the person...not their firm or the various marketing platforms they use. You hire me to achieve a desired result done the right way.

I'm seasoned, but not too salty.
