Accomodations

Master stateroom:  The master stateroom space is truly delightful. The centerline Queen berth is low enough to sit right down on without climbing. Two large drawers are beneath the foot of the bed, with indirect LED rope lighting beneath them. There are step ups on either side of the berth and cubby bin storage along the hull sides. Integral leather topped (no water marks!) nightstands are on either side, with fiddles to keep everything where it belongs. Each nightstand has a 120V outlet with USB plugs to charge your phones and other devices at night. There are two drop-front storage lockers at the head of the bed, with a large, fiddled shelf space above them. Indirect lighting is behind the fiddle on either side.

On the bulkhead between the stateroom and the salon is a locker, with shelves inside. The fiddled top lifts to reveal a day sink and has a large dressing mirror above it.

Headroom is 6’4” in here. Each hullside has a fixed light, with sliding covers for nighttime or to keep the heat out of the space.  The two overhead hatches provides more ventilation and have an integral shade/screen. There is soffit indirect lighting along either side, below the foot of the bed and behind the headboard, providing a very subdued, elegant feel to the cabin.

  • Fiberglass day sink
  • Single lever stainless steel hot/cold water mixer

Saloon:  One unique and innovative feature about the Sun Odyssey 410 is the sofa lounge. It is between the forward end of the galley and the mast compression post. The lounge has a sloped back rest when compacted and is a great place to relax underway, with an armrest type cushion between you and the compression post and the seatback running the length of the seat cushion. You need to try it to understand, but once you do…. There is storage beneath the seat as well as behind the back cushion, with a large shelving locker above the back cushion.

When you have company and want seating on both sides of the dinette, the sofa lounge slides out, the angled portion becomes flat, and you have seating for several more people at the table. Simple!

The dinette is on starboard and can easily seat four or five. There is storage beneath the seats and top access storage behind the seatbacks. The dinette table quickly converts to a 7’6” x 42” berth when needed.

There are fixed lights behind the dinette along the hullside as well as in the galley, so views of the seas are simply a part of life below as well as topside. In addition to those, there are two overhead hatches and indirect LED rope floor courtesy lighting as well as concealed overhead indirect lighting, all creating a soft and inviting feel to the interior. Headroom in the salon is 6’5”.

Galley:  The galley is in the ideal spot- the center of the boat- to reduce motion. U-shaped and with good handholds all around, it’s a safe space while underway.

On the aft end, there is a cabinet unit toward centerline that has a sculpted fiddle with a leather insert. The aft end faces the nav and has shelves and a locker door. The galley end has two pull out drawers and an internal shelf. Next toward the hull is a double sink. The sink has a Corian cover that can provide additional counter space- or it stows in a slot behind the sink and becomes a splash guard between the sink and the nav. Beneath the sink is a cabinet with a swing-out trash bin and shelves.

Moving around along the hull is the refrigeration, with top and front-loading access and an integral freezer bin. To the right is the gimballed stove; beneath that is a large drop-front locker for pot and pan storage.

Facing forward is a very large top loading dry bin to the right of the stove. Wrapping back around toward centerline is a locker with shelves. Above that is a utensil drawer and a microwave above that.

Along the hull, there an organizer the full length of the countertop. Above that are hullside windows and housetop fixed lights the length of the space, providing great views of the sea, making the space feel much more open and brighter. Seated or standing in the salon and galley, you have views of the sea.  Headroom in here is 6’4”.

Head:  The head is on starboard at the base of the companionway. As you enter, an electric toilet is directly in front of you. To the left of that is a sink/shower stall area. An acrylic bifold door closes to separate the two areas. Along the hull is a molded sink/countertop. There is a drop-front locker just below the sink and a locking access panel below that for getting to the thru hulls. Above the sink are a pair of medicine cabinets with mirrored doors and shelving inside. The shower wand mounts on wall and has its own faucet. There is a long frosted fixed light the length of the space and a frosted port in the sink & shower area. LED rope lighting is behind a soffit beneath the windows, making the space feel very bright and open. Headroom in here is 6’4”.

Nav station:  The nav station is forward facing on port and situated between the workshop and the galley. Beneath the cushioned nav seat is a large storage space. To the right of the nav top is a fiddled island that is shared with the galley; the nav side had a door with shelf storage inside. The nav top lid is a brown leather which blends nicely with the surrounding Alpi teak.  Beneath the lid is storage for chart books as well as a few divided storage spaces for smaller items. When seated, to your left is cubby storage down low, a full-length fiddled shelf and divided storage areas above the shelf. Above that are the 12v electrical controls and electronics panels. Headroom here is 6’7”. There is a fixed light above and a map light. Indirect lighting is shared with the galley and salon.

Workshop:  LITTLE WING has the optional two cabin and workshop layout. A cockpit lazarette lid opens to this area, so it is accessible from outside or in. The 6’4” headroom is helpful and not cramped as many workshops seem to be on sailboats.

As you enter, there are a pair of shelves with tall fiddles on your right, the fiddles keeping larger items well contained. Beneath the shelves is a pull-out drawer freezer, moving the less used freezer into the workshop and freeing up space for a large dry bin in the galley. What would normally be berth cushions is just the wooden structure beneath the berth, providing loads of storage space. Along the hull are the circuit breakers for the AC power system. Lighting comes from one hullside fixed light, one fixed light looking into the cockpit, one opening port, one overhead light and one bulkhead light.

Aft stateroom:  The guest stateroom is aft and on starboard. Headroom in here is 6’4”. As you enter, there is a combination hanging locker and shelving storage unit to your left, with a fiddled shelf above it.  The Queen-sized berth is oriented lengthwise, with storage beneath the forward end of the berth.  Two drop-down lockers are along the hull side and additional lockers along the centerline. Lighting and ventilation in here are great, with a fixed hullside light, one fixed light looking into the cockpit, three opening ports, two reading lights, an overhead light and indirect LED rope lighting behind a soffit.
