The design of the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45DS is such that it can be easily sailed two-handed. The internal layout of this Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45DS is ideal for families, eight berths, with the owner cabin forward with a large en-suite heads compartment and two cabins aft and a second heads compartment with access off the main cabin and from the aft port-side cabin, the salon can accommodate two.

The powerful hull lines of the Sun Odyssey 45 DS were perfected by Naval Architect Philippe Briand to ensure exceptional stability and comfort at sea.

This magnificent, seaworthy sailboat is rigged with a furling mainsail and genoa, for easy handling with a short-handed crew. On the high seas, you will feel completely secure.

Refit 2023

9 New batteries. 2 starting batteries 7 deep cycle layout of 1 main engine, 1 generator, 1 bow thruster, 5 house, and 1 emergency. The generator does not have an alternator so we installed a 2A charger. The bow thruster same program. The main engine charging alternator only houses a 30amp charger for the entire bank. Emergency battery charged from the house bank charger as it is a 2-bank charger. All batteries are new and have been on board since March 2023 and placed in service in July 2023.


The boat does have an inverter and a solar panel system which is currently in place but not introduced into the system. 


Extensive wiring and corrective measures have been taken to correct the homemade wiring and Home Depot extension cords everywhere to bring the boat to ABYC standards. Wire sizes are now correct and circuits are protected as we installed two new circuit breaker panels in the system. 


Generator: 5KW Norpro Diesel Kubota engine, fully serviced, was removed from the boat and a new platform was installed removing the old rotted-out platform. This time used the Kusa board. 


Main engine. Fully serviced the dead alternator and replaced it with onboard spare.


Air conditioning, replaced the raw water pump, Found sea water supply restrictive so replacing plumbing with larger intake sea cock to accommodate two units running simultaneously. Both units were serviced.


The water maker is present and is on the list to pickle it.


Bottom work included full sanding of the entire bottom, epoxy coat where necessary, applying two coats of anti-fouling, and replacing all zincs. Replace 1 bow thruster propeller.


Buff and wax the entire vessel using 3M products from heady cut to Finesse and then finally 100% pure Carnauba Wax. 


Forestay rig new furling bearing.


Windlass removed and serviced new gearbox.


Every bilge in the boat is detailed.


The bilge pump system updated new pumps and floats as required,


Resealed windows.


New partial headliners in the salon


New control pad for bow thruster 


All systems tested.  


All keel bolts were inspected and cleaned with less than 2% deterioration.  


Multiple areas where the interior finish was faded re re-varnished


Corrected any cabinetry deficiencies.


Corrected and adjusted lifelines and polished all stainless.
