Jimmy Rogers was born and raised in Florida and has been boating since before he could walk. Growing up around avid boaters has given him a strong love and appreciation for the water, boats and the boating lifestyle. Continuing the family tradition, Jimmy received his higher education at the University of Florida in Gainesville and graduated in 2008 with a degree in Marketing from the Warrington College of Business.

He began his career in the boating industry after securing a coveted internship at MarineMax Inc. headquarters, the largest chain of boat dealerships in the world. Catching the attention of the top executives and managers, he was given the choice of working at the top dealerships in the country.

In May of 2008, Jimmy began working at MarineMax in Naples, FL, one of the top performing boat sales locations in the nation. There he was able to learn from the best in the business the art of forming relationships with clients and the importance of top quality service and client care. On a personal note, he also met his beautiful wife Katie through mutual friends during his time there!

About a year later, Jimmy received a call from his uncle, Tom George, that would bring about a huge change to his career path. In the depths of the great recession, Tom saw an opportunity to start a boutique yacht brokerage firm that would have a strong basis in client care and customer service above all else. While other dealerships and brokerage firms were scrambling to salvage their stock value and keep inventory levels from driving them out of business, Tom and Jimmy started fresh with a purely client centric approach. Success followed, and over the years the Tom George Yacht group grew from a small office of 2 into a thriving firm.

To better serve his clients and provide the utmost in professionalism, Jimmy became a Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB) in 2011. The CPYB program is a prestigious certification that only 10% of yacht brokers worldwide have achieved. It requires a vigorous exam and ongoing education training yearly to earn enough credits to retain CPYB status.

In 2014 Jimmy and Tom became dealers for prestigious Hatteras Yachts, an iconic yachting brand that recognized the Tom George Yacht Group as an elite dealer that provides only the best service to its clients. Jimmy quickly climbed up the ranks in the Hatteras sales arena, earning two awards in the first year for distinguished sales achievement and the "Hot Shot" salesman award. In 2015 and 2016 He earned the top salesman award and was a charter member of the Hatteras "President's Club".

Seeking to meet the further demand from their client base for new and innovative product, Jimmy and Tom became dealers for Carver and Marquis Yachts, which had recently re-tooled and was bringing some great product to market.

Jimmy expanded his role in 2016 at TGYG to not only provide brokerage services, but also oversee all company sales of Carver, Marquis and Hatteras Yachts. After a very successful first year representing the Carver Yachts product, in 2017 TGYG was named Carver Yachts Top Dealer.

Jimmy comes highly recommended by his clients for his unwavering dedication and always putting their interests first. A client once told him, "I will never buy a boat from anyone else but you. I can tell you truly care — that is a very rare attribute these days."

Through hard work, passion and dedication Jimmy has been successful selling a wide range of yachts new and pre-owned since his introduction to the industry in 2008 and looks forward to continuing his career in yachting long into the future.

With his finger always on the pulse of the market, Jimmy prides himself on staying sharp and informed, ready to engage for his clients. Give Jimmy a call today and experience his dedication for yourself.
