Description

REMEDY is a drop-dead gorgeous Flag Blue Hunt Surfhunter 33 “Deep Vee” with convertible bimini top and a full-curtain enclosure for the bridge deck. With a Northern Lights 6kW genset and AC/heat vented to the cabin, head and bridge deck, this classic express cruiser is set up nicely for north/south or extended-season usage on and away from the dock. Thoughtful custom options which make this boat special include: electric front-opening panels in the windshield; Garmin 12” touchscreen plotter and Garmin autopilot (new in 2016); DVD player and 15” flat screen below; XM radio with weather capabilities; Cummins SmartCraft tachometer and digital engine instrumentation; inverter; ZF variable speed bow thruster; stern thruster (new in 2023) an optional (larger) 480 hp Cummins fully-electronic diesel with common rail fuel injection (only 412 hours!) and a custom mooring cover for the cockpit.

REMEDY planes easily at 13 knots while only sipping 6-7 gallons per hour, yet cruises easily at 27 knots all day long while only burning 12-13 gph, depending on load and sea conditions. A versatile boat equally at home with a crowd running over to the beach as she is cruising down the Inter Coastal Waterway or romping across the Gulf Stream to the Bahamas with a couple aboard. Her functional interior consists of a very large ensuite head with shower, a convertible dinette, fully equipped galley and a nice large V-berth with filler.

REMEDY was built in 2012 and was stored indoors in a clean climate-controlled building and never used until the Spring of 2016! Light summer-only usage in the Northeast until 2023, she is now in the water in full commission and kept neat as a tick in a covered slip in Wrightsville Beach, NC- conveniently located just minutes from the airport in Wilmington.

A well-loved boat, and this owner’s second Surfhunter 33, REMEDY is offered for sale because her owners are sizing down.

CONSTRUCTION AND COLORS

Made in the USA. Solid hand-laid fiberglass hull with massive longitudinal stringers. Topsides and deck are molded with non-water-absorbing foam coring for strength and weight savings.

Molded contrasting non-skid decks in Oyster White to match the Stamoid Cream canvas and exterior cushions, with white gelcoat surfaces. Proper stainless bow rail, bolted through the deck with no visible screw heads.

  • Flag Blue gel coat topsides
  • Gold cove stripe
  • Single white boot stripe
  • Green bottom
  • Exterior fabric: High-quality Majilite Finesse Natural with “custom channeling” for a neat and traditional look, with Glazed Finesse Cadet Blue contrasting piping

ACCOMMODATIONS

Starting forward, large V-berth with filler. V-berth mattress replaced new in 2017 with custom memory foam mattress. Custom cherry storage lockers along V-berth port and starboard. Cabinet on forward bulkhead to house flat screen. A hanging locker is located aft and to port, with a shelf above, and a cabinet to house the stereo and AC/heat vent, with a shelf above.

Galley to starboard, with plenty of storage in lockers outboard of counter, and cabinets below, with a shelf outboard and above. Stainless sink; countertop cutting board with flush-mounted, single-burner butane stove below; 12V/110V Isotherm stainless pullout refrigerator/freezer and Haier stainless microwave oven.

Large head to starboard with electric saltwater flush head, opening port, stainless steel sink with hot and cold faucet which doubles as ensuite shower with drain to automatic shower sump. The space is quite comfortable and large for a boat of this size, which is in keeping with the reality that most folks use their 33’s as spirited go-anywhere dayboats.
