1988 Grand Banks 36 Classic Trawler.  It is truly a classic, being the first model produced in the Grand Banks Fleet.  The single Caterpillar 3208N diesel provides ample power while still being very efficient with fuel consumption. The current owners have enjoyed this boat for the last five years and have traveled to Florida and back aboard this classic boat.

 She offers two comfortable staterooms down below along with a spacious Salon and well-equipped galley.

Description

Leeward is a 1988 Grand Banks 36 Classic Trawler in nice condition. She has a Caterpillar 3208N, 210 hp diesel engine, a Northern Lights 8 KW generator, aluminum fuels tanks. Aft cabin includes port (single) and starboard (full) berths, Large hanging locker, Marine elegance head fresh or sea flush, and shower. Air conditioner is a 9000 BTU Marinair unit with heat and cool (2021).

main saloon has new cushions (2021). Fridge uses a Isotherm magnum unit (2022). Princess propane stove and oven, 2 horizontal propane tanks in port flybridge seat. Lower helm has a Raymarine C120 chart plotter/radar, recently serviced. Also Raymarine Rn 300 GPS, Furuno RD 30 depth, Icom VHF, Furrion stereo. Heat and cooling by Webasto FCF 12000 BTU (2021).

36 Grand Banks Walkthrough


From the swim platform , you board the aftdeck via the transom gate and walk forward on either side deck. On the starboard side, you can step up to the trunk cabin and then on to the fly bridge. The salon can be entered on either side deck via one of the side deck access doors. Entering the salon via the port side deck you will find storage cabinetry on your left, the entrance to the aft stateroom to the right, and wrap around seating with a teak table.straight ahead on the starboard side. The galley is on the port side featuring a 3 burner Princess stove/oven, sink, and an Isotherm Magnum refrigeration unit. Walk forward and step down to find the forward stateroom with ensuite head.

The headroom in the forward stateroom is 6'2", 6'4" in the main salon, and 6'3" in the aft cabin.

The height from the waterline to the top of the venturi wind screen is 13'6", and 17' to the top of the bimini.




36' Grand Banks Accommodations


Leeward offers an aft stateroom with head and shower. It has a full size bed on the starboard side and a single on the port side. It also has a hanging closet and drawers for storage with a separate shower and stateroom forward with a v-berth and ensuite head.

The salon offers side deck access doors on each side, storage cabinets, an L-shaped bench seat with a teak table that has folding leafs, opening side windows, and a teak floor. The floor has panels that are removable to gain access to the engine room allowing easy maintenance.

Three burner propane stove/oven with two new propane tanks under the fly bridge seating area.

Isotherm Magnum refrigeration unit uses fresh water for very efficient cooling.

The guest stateroom offers a v-berth, anchor chain locker access, reading lights, side windows with curtains, storage cabinets and drawers, hanging locker, and ensuite head.

The lower helm is on the starboard side of the salon area. It has a Raymarine C120 chart plotter/radar, recently serviced, a Raymarine Rn 300 GPS, a Furuno RD 30 depth finder, and an Icom VHF radio. The Fusion stereo is located above the lower helm.

Curtis Stokes was born in Lewes, Delaware and grew up in nearby Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and St. Michaels, MD until he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1992. Curtis grew up on the water and around boats through many years of fishing, sailing and hunting up and down the East Coast of the U.S. and The Bahamas.

 

While attending Washington College, in Chestertown, Maryland, Curtis decided to obtain his real estate license and joined his father’s real estate firm, Anderson-Stokes Realtors. Curtis became president of the firm after his father’s death and led the company through its expansion to 20 offices and expanded the publicly traded company into insurance, advertising and development. The company was sold in 1991 and Curtis decided to pursue his real love of the water and made yachting his career.

 

Curtis’ yachting career includes everything from a 75’ Trumpy to a 180’ Feadship, 2½ circumnavigations and a half dozen Atlantic Ocean crossings. He has been associated with and enjoyed worldwide cruising on such well known vessels as EXCELLENCE, FIFFANELLA, OUR TOY, MOECCA, RENEGADE, KISSES and HUNTRESS. Curtis also gained experience as sales manager at Hatteras Yachts, in New Bern, NC, where he helped develop and sell new models and train and coordinate his dealer network.

 

Curtis then spent six years as a very successful yacht sales broker with The Sacks Group Yachting Professionals, Inc. Curtis was consistently a top producer at the firm. Curtis decided to form his own yacht sales and charter firm September 1, 2009, which took off on a very successful start, even in a recession! Curtis has grown the company to multiple offices and 50 full time sales associates located around the US; and he has sold virtually every type and size of yacht and boat possible.

 

Curtis held a USCG 3000 ton All Oceans Master license, UK MCA Class IV Master certificate, Cayman Islands Master certificate and a PADI Divemaster certificate. He is also a former Emergency Medical Technician, firefighter and CPR instructor. 

 

Curtis is an active member of the America’s Great Loop Cruiser Association (AGLCA), Superyacht Society, United States Superyacht Association, Marine Trawler Owner Association (MTOA), DeFever Cruiser Club, Seven Seas Cruising Association, Billfish Foundation, International Gamefish Association and Ducks Unlimited.

 

Curtis also is a Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB), a member of the International Yacht Broker Association, Yacht Broker Association of America and the Northwest Yacht Broker Association.
