Hull

  • The innovative Hydro Lift™ deep vee hull design is a performance breakthrough that sets Robalo apart from other fishing boats. Robalo fine-tunes its Hydro Lift running surface precisely to custom match the length of the boat. Simply stated, Hydro Lift transfers hydrodynamic pressure from the sharp keel to the wider strake surfaces for maximum control and efficiency. Rivals use narrow strakes to generate lift, which creates bothersome spray and inefficient overall performance. Matched with outboard power by Yamaha, Robalo’s Hydro Lift design generates maximum lift across the entire running surface. The end result is a dry ride and phenomenal efficiency whether you’re operating at trolling speeds or motoring full speed ahead. The reduced deadrise on the outer edges of our planing surface combines with a reversed chine to provide additional stability at the all-important low end where fishermen spend most of their time.
  • The most noteworthy extra that separates Robalo from the pack is KEVLAR® reinforcement is used in all boats from the R220 up. Renowned for its incredible strength and lightweight, Kevlar is used in the production of bulletproof vests and a variety of other applications where maximum strength matters. Robalo’s lamination schedule is enhanced with Maxguard Gelcoat for superior resistance to yellowing, fading and chalking. HYDROPEL, a modified acrylic epoxy resin, does not allow water to permeate to help resist blistering.

Broker's Remarks

It’s always a pleasant surprise to show up to a listing appointment to a well-kept boat that is like the seller described, “in excellent condition”. I was pleased going over this boat and learning how the seller has cared for her.

Seller's Note

Relation-Ship II has been a wonderful boat for my wife and me and our family and friends, and we are only selling now because our age (69) and stamina are keeping us from using her enough - that plus we now have 8 young granddaughters and our sons (our former crew) are too busy with family life to get on board very often. We are hearing the call to simplify our life, and will not be getting another boat.

The story begins at the Miami boat show in February 2012, where I went to shop so I could view and compare many different makes and models before making a choice. After several days of shopping I selected the Robalo R300. The purchase was made through South Florida Yachts (there was then no Robalo dealer in Texas), and after build and fit out she was delivered to us in Galveston in May.

The boat has had only one home - a wet slip under the roof at the Galveston Yacht Basin. I purchased and installed a cradle lift for her, providing better support and protection than the typical slings. My wife and I retired and moved full time into a town home next to the marina in 2014, so the boat has been just a short walk for us down the dock. Living so close to the boat has allowed us easy access for use and importantly just to keep an eye on things throughout the year.

Until the last several years, we were making 6 - 8 offshore fishing trips a year, typically running 60 to 80 miles out. We also enjoyed boating and fishing around Galveston Bay when offshore was not an option. She has many great features that make her a great platform for fishing and boating. We especially like the wide T Top which gives great shade.

As seller, I will be very happy to pass on all that I've learned about her to the new owner.
